“This strategic initiative demonstrates our commitment to transparency while helping us identify and mitigate environmental risks and prepare for future regulations,” said Dennis Bacchetta, marketing director and founding member of Diamond’s Green Team. “By embracing this voluntary disclosure, we're not just complying with industry standards, we're leading by example.”
Press Release
Rochester, NY – Diamond Packaging today announced that it is taking a proactive step forward in its sustainability journey by participating in CDP's new SME Climate Change disclosure questionnaire. By disclosing through CDP, Diamond is responding to the increasing demand for environmental transparency from its customers, stakeholders, and policymakers.
CDP is a global non-profit charity that runs the world’s leading disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The world’s economy looks to CDP as the gold standard of environmental reporting with the richest and most comprehensive dataset on corporate and city action.
Diamond’s data will be added to the most comprehensive inventory of self-reported environmental data in the world – helping to drive action through greater transparency.
Diamond shared information on its industry-leading greenbox sustainability initiative to research, design, and implement packaging solutions that are innovative and more sustainable. The core of the initiative – designs, materials, and methods – represents a comprehensive approach to packaging that minimizes environmental impact throughout the supply chain. Through creative design, careful material selection, and best practices at the plant level, Diamond is able to minimize waste, reduce shipping costs and increase efficiencies – all of which support a sustainable use of resources and cultivate a positive emotional connection to the brand.
“This strategic initiative demonstrates our commitment to transparency while helping us identify and mitigate environmental risks and prepare for future regulations,” said Dennis Bacchetta, director of marketing and founding member of Diamond’s Green Team. “By embracing this voluntary disclosure, we're not just complying with industry standards, we're leading by example.”
“With over 23,000 businesses disclosing through CDP this year, it is clear that sustainability – and the data that underpins it – is not a ‘nice to have’, but an essential part of long-term success in the business community that is showing no sign of slowing down – nor should it,” said Sherry Madera, Chief Executive Officer at CDP.
