Press Release

Rochester, NY – Diamond Packaging today announced it has been awarded a Carbon Management Level "Leader" rating in EcoVadis' carbon scorecard. The company was recognized for its best-in-class GHG management system and ambitious science-based decarbonization targets.

The EcoVadis carbon scorecard provides an independent assessment of a company’s carbon management system and performance. The scorecard identifies carbon management performance levels and show specific strengths and improvement areas targeted at each level. Performance levels include Insufficient, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Leader.

Carbon scorecards can be used by requesting companies to identify which of their trading partners are engaged in the fundamentals of carbon sustainability, which have carbon risks that need addressing, and which are top performers. For rated companies, the carbon scorecard will be complemented with a variety of materials helping to foster comprehension and adoption of continuous improvement, based on a company's current scorecard results.

Diamond's "Leader" status refers to the highest rating a company can achieve on EcoVadis' carbon management assessment, signifying that it has demonstrated exceptional practices and performance in managing its carbon footprint, considered to be best-in-class within their industry. Earning "Leader" status signifies a strong framework for measuring, reducing, and reporting carbon emissions.

Diamond reported on its industry-leading greenbox sustainability initiative to research, design, and implement packaging solutions that are innovative and more sustainable. The core of the initiative – designs, materials, and methods – represents a comprehensive approach to packaging that minimizes environmental impact throughout the supply chain. Through creative design, careful material selection, and best practices at the plant level, Diamond is able to minimize waste, reduce shipping costs and increase efficiencies – all of which support a sustainable use of resources and cultivate a positive emotional connection to the brand.

Today, Diamond’s packaging is designed utilizing recyclable or recycled paperboards (many FSC-certified), and manufactured using 100% clean, renewable wind energy, in a Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) and Carbon Neutral (Scope 1 and Scope 2) facility.
