L'Oreal Paris Pure-Clay Mask
Packaging Challenges
The new L'Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Mask Collection transforms skin in just minutes with three new masks, each designed to target specific skin concerns. L'Oréal USA turned to Diamond for packaging that conveyed the essence of a premium product and did so using more sustainable converting methods.
Packaging Solutions
Multi-Color UV Printing
The new packaging features a combination of color, tightly registered coatings, foil, and intricate embossing accents that catch the eye and invite closer inspection.
The folding cartons were converted utilizing FSC-certified Invercote G paperboard, cold foiled and offset printed with four color process, two special colors, and opaque white inks, and UV matte and UV gloss spot coating.
Invercote G was chosen for its smooth surface that is tailored to faithfully reproduce the most sophisticated printed images and meet the high demands of flawless foil stamping and embossing.
Overprinting transparent green ink over cold foil creates a shimmering metallic effect.
Foiling and Embossing
Foil embossed accents (L'Oréal Paris logos) on the front and top panels provide an upscale appearance unique to personal care products.
The structural design features a rigid window and a specially-designed, integrated insert, which provides protection for the primary container.
Sustainably Made
The cartons were manufactured using 100% clean, renewable wind energy and produced in a Zero Manufacturing Waste to Landfill (ZMWL) facility — consistent with L'Oréal's "Sharing Beauty With All" sustainability commitment.
The L'Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Mask Collection packaging is a strikingly visual and tactile presentation that stands out in the crowded retail environment.
It also wowed the judges by winning a Beauty Inc. Best Beauty Products of 2016 award in the Mass Skin Care category.
